This ensemble is intended as an introductory experience to choral singing for boys and girls who are 6 to 10 years of age. Basic skills in musical understanding and performance begin here and provide a wonderful framework on which children can build. The goal of our once weekly rehearsals is to install a love for singing. A focus on unison song, an encouraging atmosphere, high energy activities and selected performance opportunities result in a pleasurable experience for all.

Cantilena was thrilled to be awarded First Prize at the Alberta Provincial Choir Festival [provincial stream] in 2003, earning the Olga Nickle Memorial Foundation Scholarship and Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival Plaque.
