Autumn Retreat at Camp Chestermere

It’s time for our ensembles to depart for their Autumn Retreats at Camp Chestermere!

Autumn Retreat is one of the highlights of the year for our singers. It is an intense weekend of singing, rehearsing and learning. Equally important is the opportunity for our choristers to “play” together, thereby strengthening their bonds as individuals and as an ensemble.

Much like our Get In The Groove Workshop Week, retreats offer our choristers a large amount of time to be able to tackle larger concepts that would eat up most of our rehearsal time in a weekly rehearsal. Our ensembles return from the intense weekend having made MAJOR progress on the repertoire they are working on, as well as being a little closer to their best friends.

Our Home-Away-From-Home: Camp Chestermere

This is a new facility for us as of last season! Located east of Calgary, Camp Chestermere has been a vital part of the community for more than 80 years. Located on a 6.5 acre property just off Glenmore Trail East, the Camp provides year round rental facilities that include a chapel [perfect for rehearsals], dining hall, gym, fire pit, games field, a variety of rooms and a wide assortment of sleeping accommodations. The camp also has a variety of outdoor recreation facilities. Even though Camp Chestermere is near the city, the children enjoy the experience of being able to “get away for the weekend” and experience something profound out in nature.
