Day FOUR: Making Connections One Jig At A Time!

After a special awards night with all of our choristers and chaperones, we’re ready to spend our final hours together on DAY FOUR before beginning the journey home to Calgary!

Presentation - The Metis History of Alberta

After checking out of our rooms and loading up the bus, we had a truly special presentation waiting for our choristers in the hotel rec room: A Presentation by Metis culture educators Aleigha Aaker, April Aaker, and special guest Audra Brown.

Cantare-aged Aleigha gave a full presentation of artifacts, sage samples, beads, weaved sashes, moccasins and more! Our choristers were blown away by her passion and depth of knowledge. After showing us all of her treasures, she taught us how to dance a traditional jig, what fun to dance together on our last day!

We were so happy to have a chance to sing SEVEN for our guests in a moving private performance.

The Journey Home

Even great journeys must come to an end! After four wonderful days together, it was time to pack up the bus and make our way back home to Calgary. Thank you for sharing the tour experience with us, we’ve loved having you along for the ride!

Until next time!

Touring Tips: Ask A Chorister

Do you know one of our singers? They LOVE having the chance to talk about their choir experiences and all that they learned on their tour (you may even be lucky enough to see their notes!). Make sure you take time to sit down with the cantare or cantiga singer in your circle and ask them to give you the full rundown, you’ll have some fun on your hands!
