Cantare Community Chorus is a “No Experience Needed” community choir that welcomes those who love to sing but may not have formal training or extensive choral experience.
Unlike our young adult ensemble CANTANDO which requires intensive commitment, Community Chorus is perfect for singers of all ages who are balancing life, school, work, and other commitments alongside their love for choral music.
The choir meets weekly for 90-minute rehearsals on Thursdays where members learn step-by-step, focusing on tone and musical expression. No previous experience or music reading ability is needed—just a willingness to be part of a community where everyone can be vulnerable and creative together.
Community Chorus has no formal audition, and you can commit to a full year OR concert-by-concert if you need a short-term commitment to meet your schedule/availability.

Community Chorus rehearsals/performances are organized into Projects (rehearsals leading up to a concert). Register for a full season of Community Chorus OR customize your commitments to suit your year’s schedule
Project 1:
Rehearsals THURSDAYS October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 2025
Dress Rehearsal and Concert SATURDAY October 18th
12pm-1pm dress rehearsal; 7:30pm concert

Not at all! Cantare Community Chorus is open to singers of any experience level, we will work together step-by-step to learn our music together in rehearsal

Cantare Community Chorus is a non-auditioned chorus, making membership open to anyone who has a love for singing!

Community Chorus fees are $30/Rehearsal to cover the costs of room rental, music purchases and licensing, conductor and pianist fees. Singers will register for individual projects with a fee calculated by how many rehearsals we have for that particular project
