Day FOUR: Bomber Command, and the Journey Home

Nanton Bomber Command Museum

The final stop of our tour led us to Nanton just south of Calgary at the Bomber Command Museum!

This visit connected with all of our research and learning this fall about the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and the British Commonwealth Air Training Program, which had much of its home in Calgary during the lead to, and throughout, the Second World War. We stopped outside the museum at the Bomber Command Memorial and recited the Commitment To Remember in honour of those who gave their lives.

Our guided tour of the museum included a comprehensive look through this information-filled museum and machine shop, we even got to crawl through the museum’s massive Avro Lancaster Bomber!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the museum for our short concert in front of the Lancaster, we were so happy to end our 2025 tour in song!

The Journey Home

We have come to the end of our tour journey, and it’s time to say goodbye! Our proud, thrilled, and TIRED choristers loaded their belongings up onto the tour bus and took one last journey together down highway 2 to meet back up with our families at home base!

BONUS: THANK YOU, Staff and Chaperones!

We want to finish off our 2025 Cantiga Tour Blog by saying a HUGE thank you to our incredible team of chaperones and staff who worked tirelessly to make the 2025 Southwest AB tour an enormous success!
